SKIVVIES AROUND THE WORLD TM
PHOTO ADVICE & SUBMISSION INFO
So you're thinking about baring a little more than usual in public to
show 'em your Hippie Skivvies? Let us offer some advice.
Mainly, don't worry too much about background. Especially when there's
a sign, go for the close-up of the person and the sign. You'll
see what we mean on some of the photos in this section of our site. By
the time the shot makes it onto someone's monitor, the images can get
pretty small.
Once taken, the photo(s) can be sent either as an attachment to an e-mail
message or through regular snail mail (address below). If you're using
a digital camera and/or if you're submitting by e-mail, make your camera
settings for "fine" and at least 800 pixels in height, then send the
image in as large a file size as possible! We need the freedom to
crop and size it so it's uniform with the other photos on our site. If
you send a hard copy for us to scan, please indicate if you'd like the
photo returned.
We no longer require a signed release form for most submissions.
We will interpret by your submission of photo(s) that you
are agreeing to all of the terms on our release form. You do not need
to physically sign and send one to us, but please read
the form.
We've often been asked, "Hey, how about sending me some free Skivvies
and I'll take pictures for you somewhere?" Well, here's the way it works.
Our policy is to reward those who do things, rather than "betting on the
come." Purchase some Skivvies on your own and start taking pictures. We
send freebies based on the following types of shots:
1) Crazy or wild positions. In other words, something to make
us laugh (not just standing there next to a sign). For good examples of
something that would fit this category, see Stephanie
in Dominican Republic and Joe at the University of Delaware.
2) Unique places or situations. Show you go the extra mile. For great examples,
see Jon & June at the South Pole,
Tamara & Matthew at the Great Barrier Reef,
Will bungee jumping in New Zealand, and
Bill & Rita walking on hot coals in Newcastle
3) Risque photos. Without getting too blatant in the request
-- front, back, total nude just holding the Skivvies in the hand, whatever.
The bottom line is that having an R-rated shot that we have to turn into
a PG shot can be very sexy. See Stephanie
in Cabo San Lucas. You must be 18 years or older if you submit something
in this category.
In each of the above cases, we sent freebies. You'll find seven entries
from "Will" and he's covered three different continents in doing so.
