Linc at Ol Tukai Lodge
Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa's highest mountain is one of the most popular of Kenya's national parks. The snow-capped 5895m peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, rising above a saucer of clouds, dominates every aspect of Amboseli. The park covers only 392 square kilometers but supports over 50 species of mammals and almost 400 species of birds. Elephants roam the parks in herds of a hundred or more. This is also the home of the Maasai people, tall, proud nomads whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts have spread across the globe. They live harmoniously with the wildlife. The park is composed of a seasonal lake, swamps and springs fed by underground rivers from Kilimanjaro's melting snow. The snows of the mountain form a majestic backdrop to one of Kenya's most spectacular displays of wildlife.
